Why Not?

So, I am usually about one year behind on technology. This means My Space, Facebook, getting an iPod, etc. I didn't even realize how much blogging was being done around our country - and by my own friends - until recently. (I know, I know - do I live under a cave or something? Nope). I never thought about doing my own blog until this week. At first I thought that it was a little silly for a single gal to have her own blog, but then I thought to myself, who cares??? So what? Blogging isn't limited to certain people. So.... this blog, "Salembrookie", I started today. Most of all, I think that it is just fun to blog. Ha! And I think it will be great way to journal about life. We'll see how this goes!

    hahahaha, I just saw this Amanda! I'm living in Bitting actually, because my position is live in. It is FANTASTIC during my single years! I'm pursuing grad school at UNCG, and this past spring took an exploratory class within the counseling department. I got into the counseling dept for fall, but need to switch my admission to Higher Ed. It's a long story! =)

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
