My Baby Brother's Graduation

My buddy. That is what I call this guy. I was almost ten when he was born, and I remember that day like it was yesterday. He just graduated from college, and I cannot believe it. Where did my little buddy go??! Well, that little buddy is now a 23 year old man who is starting his life. I am so proud of him.

He graduated from Appalachian on May 12, and we spent an amazing weekend in Boone with all of our family. It was so fun! Since Mother's Day was the day after, my mom's side of the family stayed a little longer and we treated my grandmother, my mom, and my aunt to a homemade brunch made by all of the cousins. GREAT, fun times! My mom and grandmother rented us an amazing cabin in Sevin Devils, and quite frankly, we didn't want to leave the cabin to go into Boone.

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
