pool party reunion!

I was so blessed to be in a wonderful Bible study for four years in Charlotte! I've blogged about them before. Two of us are still single, but three of the women have children, now.  Twice a year we still get together to "play!" This summer I invited them all over to my mom's pool for pizza and swimming. Oh my gosh, I had the best time with the kids in the pool! Well, except that I was supposed to "catch" one of the 3 yr olds as she jumped in, and she ended up falling under. I pulled her up right away, but she kept saying to her mom, "but mommy, I went under the SEA, I went under the SEA"  EPIC FAIL, BROOKE!  It has not been my best week with kids, to say the least.  The other 3 yr old said to me as I sat on the same steps with her, "I'd like to sit alone right now, please." Ha! Oh well.  The day was sooo fun! Oh, please notice the cute boy just chillin' on his float. He cracks me up!
Totally pretending to sleep! She said to her mom, "I found my spot."

    Too cute! I didn't know your mom had a pool, how fun! Bet you love using that when you're visiting, especially in weather like this!

    Oh my gosh, I love these pics! (Well, except for the fact that I still look pregnant in the first pic, ugh!) We had so much fun hanging out with you guys! Will have to get together again soon!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
