lightroom...photography is ON!!

If you follow my blog you know that I love pictures!  Love them, love them, love them.  I LOVE looking at them, I love taking them, and I love editing them.  I bought a Nikon D40 back in the fall from my brother and I am slowly starting to use it.  Well, tonight I purchased (at a $200 savings, mind you) Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.  Several people had suggested it as a great editing program.  OH MY GOODNESS.  The difference in editing ability with this software is INCREDIBLE.  I CANNOT WAIT TO GET THIS PHOTOGRAPHY THING GOING!!!!  Be warned.  If you have children, or if you are engaged, I am going to be calling you to ask you to let me do a session for free so that I can build my portfolio.  =)))

On a different note.....the best part of the past couple of days is actually about four things!(In no certain order!)
  • Getting to meet little baby Madelyn, daughter of my friend Tonya!  She is BEAUTIFUL! 
  • Getting to reconnect with my friend Erica at her baby shower and see her adorable 2 year old, Riley!
  • Getting to reconnect with my dear friend Avery after WAY TOO LONG!!
  • Getting to see my mom off safely to Jamaica on a mission trip!  So excited for her and the team!

    Can't wait to see some of your photos!! That is great you're getting into it. We have a nice camera, but I hardly know how to use it!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end. Capri and Getting Home (final italy blog)

After Cinque Terre, we took the night train to Naples, then the ferry to Capri. Friends, if you take the night train in Italy, it is worth it to pay the price to have your own cabin. Trust me. We didn't sleep much at all because we were with 5 other people in this cabin. The island of Capri was amazing! We stayed in an amazing seaside resort, which was perfect for the end of the trip. We didn't walk around, didn't shop, didn't even really try to have an agenda. FANTASTIC.    Then it was back on the ferry to Naples. Of course, this water picture reminded me of LOST (sigh).  Heather left that night for her flight to Switzerland, then New York.  So I stayed near the airport and completely rested.
