what have I been up to?

What have I been up to in the last few weeks?
  • enjoying seeing the class above me (class of 2001) who were back on campus for their ten year reunion! 
  • visiting my grandmother for easter
  • visiting my mom's childhood homes with her for the first time!! SOO FUN!!  
  • shock over the fact that my baby brother is now 22!  
  • praying for the victims of the southern tornadoes on april 27
  • rejoicing in the victory against terrorism on may 1
  • secretly wishing that I was a royal princess 
  • hours spent ANGRY AS ALL GET OUT against the passive obsurdity of comments on social media (this WILL be a blog) and within my campus community.
  • enjoying a new church small group!
  • finishing another semester of grad school - YAY!! 6 classes finished, 8 to go. 
  • finishing another semester of work - third year in the job, almost done!! 
  • halfway through with invisalign! whoo hoo!   
 I am gonna slowly catch up on blogging.  I hope that you are all doing well, blogger world!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. For in this season....(are you ready blog readers??).....I ENTERED INTO A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP. It's true!! It's true!! an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! Cop arrested him, five cop cars pulled up....and many questions later we learn that we will all have to appe...

pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
