unexpected 60th

I meant to write to ask for  prayers last week.....and forgot. My dad's father, my Gramps, broke his hip last week and had to have hip replacement surgery one day after he and my grandmother's 60th wedding anniversary.  Talk about timing, right? The surgery went very well, and he is recovering nicely! We are definitely saying prayers of thanksgiving that he is doing just fine.  Please pray that his lengthy recovery will go well and that he will get home quickly.  Pray also for my sweet (and fragile) grandmother, and my uncles in that town that will most likely be doing the brunt of helping them.
(Gramps last year)
Sooo, its not every day that a couple has a 60th wedding anniversary, right?  So naturally we had a whole weekend planned of fun activities for them.  We had a party planned for Friday night, leisure activities planned for Saturday, and a huge family reunion planned on Sunday with distant cousins and aunts.  Bad news....broken hip = no partying.  Good news.....it was perfect that we were all going to be there anyway, so that visiting him in the hospital was easy.  Very helpful! 30 of us spent the weekend together, visiting Gramps in smaller groups, playing games, playing and listening to music.....having a wonderful time.  I'm completely exhausted today, so my "bff Coke" helped me make it!  I knew I loved it for a reason.  =)
