it always gets better and can always be worse

when life gives you lemons.....at least sweet apples come next.

okay, horrible analogy. but as horrible as my weekend was, it was inevitable that good things had to come next.

to those that mourned my window loss with me (or at least the FRIGID air that I suffered while driving), you will rejoice with me that is now fixed. my friend's husband is my hero for helping me and ordering the parts at cost from his work. my hands and ears are also beyond grateful. i think that the window is probably bitter about being moved from its temporary and warmer location inside the door.

i had a blast this week hanging out with some salem ladies that i had not seen in probably seven years! i have to say that getting to know old friends again as 29-30 year olds is about the most fun i have had in a while! i am so glad that rachel came into town from california and that we all visited together. my abs are still hurting from laughing so hard, and my spirits are so lifted by the great company. who needs the age of 21? shew, 30 is so much better!

the weather. friends, it is like i became a different person when the 10 day forecast (wednesday) showed ALL 50's for the highs! seriously, a different person. warmth gives me hope, makes me happy, and makes me sleep better. you didn't realize how pathetic i am? Oh, i'm so aware.

AND.....things could always be worse.

what a fragile world - truly - we live in. we take for granted that this earth is a gift. that life is precious. that we are not in control of our destiny. our future. the horror of haiti this week is yet another reminder to me of all of this. wars & rumors of war. famine. disease. earthquakes. all so sad. horrible. but shouldn't be a surprise to us. at least not to readers of the word. this is not our home, and there is a savior that will be coming back. soon, or not soon, this rescue is the only hope i can personally count on during the sadness of world horror. and the hope of a new earth with the true king brings peace to my heart. i hope that it can bring peace to your heart as well.
