adventures of Brooke and Abby continue

I literally can't go out with my friend Abby without something epic happening.  It's actually hilarious to us, now.  (Or at least it is funny to me.  Abby might be getting a bad impression of Winston-Salem life at this point).

Have you seen "Inception?"  Well, its intense.  Like, pick-your-brain-up-off-the-floor-when-its-over kind of intense.  So, we were two hours into the movie.  The hero was divulging tres importante information.  The music was INTENSE (thanks, Hans Zimmer, I usually love ya, but not right now), I was so nervous that I kept clicking my blackberry case (sorry, Ab), we were on pins and needles, and...........the power went out!  (Okay, only for a second, but still).  And we lost the movie.  The theater was quiet, and I busted out laughing.  Abby looked at me and says "is this a dream?"  Which made me laugh even harder.  We waited, and finally 10 minutes later the movie came back on at the right place.  The movie itself basically is full of bad weather, mind you, and when it ended, we walked outside.....to the scariest kind of weather I've seen in a while. The kind where half the sky is lit with lightning and it feels like it might hail along with a Dorothy sized tornado (it didn't).  Oh my goodness.  What can you do but laugh, right? That's what I did, anyway. 

Needless to say, don't count on your local theater being immune from power outages.  And I hope that your viewing of Inception is not as crazy as ours was!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
