the rest of February

February is my third busiest month of the year, which equals total exhaustion. But....these moments made me smile!

 
Last minute family get together last Friday night! 
Blair and Matthew drove in from Nashville for his brother's bday, Christopher surprised us from Appalachian, so I drove in at the last minute for dinner at my cousin's restaurant at Stonecrest called Boneheads! 

Work is so much better when a friend is there with you! 
Abby and I worked a student leadership conference for both of our colleges this past Saturday. 

I went with my friend Esther to pick up her new puppy! How cute is he? At first she named him "Drywall" because he destroyed her bathroom. But now his true name is "Mellow." It fits.

 
Outside my office window.  I am addicted to the sky.....clouds, colors, sunsets, rainbows, all of it. When I see hues that catch my eye, I have to photograph it. Believe it or not, this sky was actually kind of spooky. Tornado-ish.  Yet still made me smile? Yep.

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
