Blizzard Mountain

I don't know how he does it.  But my brother Christopher has dealt with the coldest/snowiest winter Boone has had in like 80 years.  He just moved into a mountain house off campus - I don't think he knew what he was getting himself into this winter!  It was definitely an adventure to visit him two weeks ago , but I would do anything for this guy! And I really did have a fun day.
 This is the road. See the snow? Unless you have 4 wheel drive, you aren't driving up the hill. We don't.
 
See those cars? One of those is mine. That's the bottom of the hill. My brother does this EVERY DAY. 
I thought the hill was going to kill me.  Mostly because it had 15 inches of packed snow on it. 


And THIS basically makes it worth it! His awesome mountain rental with 4 amazing roommates.

So how much fun is this?? One of my former small groupers in the youth group back in Charlotte dates my brother's best friend! I adore getting to see my Tay when I see my Christopher!!

    Oh my gosh, I am so jealous of your brother!! Boone, snow, and a mountain house?!?! Must be the life! Glad yall had fun!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
