more 30ths!

Katherine was my freshmen year roommate at Salem! We met in high school doing state level student council, then roomed together at Salem for one year, but blocked rooms side by side every year after that. My favorite memory with her at Salem was hanging out late night in our Babcock room, getting scared by our sink coming on by itself (oh yes) and running down the hall to our friends room. =) My other favorite memory of her in college was all of our Fall Fest skits in which she always played our Dean of Students. She is hilarious and always the life of the party, that's for sure!

Since I've moved to Winston, Katherine has made my life here so much fun! It has been so fun to reconnect with her and be able to hang out (as much as possible with my insane schedule and her business trips to Dallas). She'll call me up at 11:00 and say "wanna grab a glass of wine?" Ummm, sure! Ha! I love all of our late night conversations and "vent sessions!" =) And I love that we are both night owls. She is a great friend!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
