first of the 30ths!

Tonight I celebrated the first of several 30th birthday parties this fall! Jenn is one of my best friends and I love her dearly. Tonight was her dinner out and the actual party is Friday. I cannot imagine what college would have been like without her! We traveled with friends all over the country while in college - a summer in California, spring break to new orleans, holden beach with my family for easter, and many more. She is married and it is her daughter Savannah that I mention so much on my blog. They are my Winston family and I just adore them. Hopefully my job will settle down this fall and I can see them more than I have been lately.

    Oh my, it is hard to believe how close to 30 we are. I think I've been in denial! You can hardly mention it to people older or they think we're crazy, but this is the first birthday in my life I feel a twinge of resistance to! :) Erin

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end. Capri and Getting Home (final italy blog)

After Cinque Terre, we took the night train to Naples, then the ferry to Capri. Friends, if you take the night train in Italy, it is worth it to pay the price to have your own cabin. Trust me. We didn't sleep much at all because we were with 5 other people in this cabin. The island of Capri was amazing! We stayed in an amazing seaside resort, which was perfect for the end of the trip. We didn't walk around, didn't shop, didn't even really try to have an agenda. FANTASTIC.    Then it was back on the ferry to Naples. Of course, this water picture reminded me of LOST (sigh).  Heather left that night for her flight to Switzerland, then New York.  So I stayed near the airport and completely rested.
