Six Month Catch-Up!!!!

It isn't every day (or month or year, for that matter) that a human can look at their life and be utterly dumbfounded by the way that God moves. Sure, all of us who follow Him can see Him working each day, in big and small ways. But those life-changing, momentous, gut-wrenching years (good or bad).....those seem to be more rare.  I am currently in the midst of one of those years.  

I haven't written in the last six months. I think that part of this delay has been the question of "who even reads this, anyway?" Ha! This is not one of those blogs with a massive following. More than that, it has simply been an INTENSE time in my life.  I am going to attempt to catch up on the last six months, in abbreviated form, because this blog used to be somewhat of a personal diary for me. I used to enjoy looking back at my thoughts, silly or otherwise, and reflect on my life. I also feel that these last six months have provided me with an AMAZING amount of God stories, and I just simply need to honor him by sharing them, even with a few readers. 

So get ready, blogger friends who choose to read these entries. And get ready for a new blog name....Salembrookie is no longer fitting!! =)

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. For in this season....(are you ready blog readers??).....I ENTERED INTO A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP. It's true!! It's true!! an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
