8 out of 14......

graduate school classes are DONE!! Think it's taking me long enough?! Yeah. I do, too. This was my FOURTH SPRING AT UNC-GREENSBORO.  Ugh. But I'm learning a TON....I love almost all of my professors....and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.  6 more to go, 3 of which that are apparently rough. Oh well. For now, I have a three week break, and I plan to enjoy every single night without homework.

Oh, and aside from the grace of God....I have to give credit to the following for getting me through this semester.

Oh, Dorito Loco Taco. You are heaven on earth for midnight food cravings. You never once failed me when I needed the comfort of your unique shell/meat/toppings combination.  
Google Docs. You are the saving grace of every graduate student forced to do a bazillion group projects! Thank you for saving me drives to Greensboro, and for the up-to-the-minute updates. You are genius, pure genius. 

Thank you to my pillow for catching my numerous tears when I thought that the world was ending.  Thank you to my newly-purchased daily contact lenses for keeping my eyes mostly white when they were fighting me after only four hours of sleep, night after night.  Thank you to my friends for not dumping me when I couldn't hang out with you. And thank you to Facebook groups, for letting me see status updates from classmates which affirmed that I was NOT the only one going nuts!

Ahh, spring 2017, you were MONUMENTAL. Absolutely monumental. You will forever be remembered as one of my favorite seasons of life. For in this season....(are you ready blog readers??).....I ENTERED INTO A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP. It's true!! It's true!! I'm not going to share his name or photos, yet, in order to respect the fact that we both work at the same university, and it is a MAJOR "fishbowl" around here. Whew! an epic week

What an epic week! I'll start with tonight. So my friend Abby moved to Winston. Totally exciting, long awaited, great-opportunity-for-her, overall momentous occasion. I told her we'd celebrate. Picked my favorite restaurant downtown. Her sister drove in from Raleigh. I invited my best work friend to come. We enjoyed a great dinner downtown tonight. Felt all "small city metropolitan." (or at least I did). We walked as a group of four out to the parking lot, myself in front. I heard a scream. I turned around, expecting to see her talking to someone she knew. Instead I saw a man running away from us, and Abby saying that he tried to take her purse. I screamed at him. He just ran away. I saw a cop down the street who pulled someone over. I ran to him to ask for help. He helped us. "Robber" proceeds to come OUT of the parking deck near us AGAIN! Cop arrested him, five cop cars pulled up....and many questions later we learn that we will all have to appe...

pre-wedding festivities continue!

Blair's wedding is getting ever closer....about 10 days to be exact. We are all definitely feeling the craziness, that is for sure. Are weddings ever really "simple" affairs?? Despite the hectic schedule of wedding planning, we are all so excited for next week and have high hopes for a wonderful wedding weekend. Blair is the first of us four kids to get married, the first cousin on one side & only the second on the other to get married - so we are all new at this wedding thing! =) We celebrated with my dad's family this weekend to give them a chance to meet Matthew and his family. My dad's family is huge and most of them were able to come with us to Falls Lake park for two big meals, football, and "hanging out." The rain held off (as the rainbow in the morning promised us!) and Blair and I sobbed leaving because it was such a special day. We didn't want it to end.
